Our Turnkey Approach

We fabricate aluminium to customer specification. We also offer custom extrusion and component design and development (SOLIDWORKS®), supporting customers who need design input before production begins.
Natural anodising provides superior corrosion resistance and is specifically recommended for external and coastal applications.
Where powder coating is the specified finish, we provide coating services for aluminium and steel in a wide range of colours.

Solar installers
If you are installing residential or commercial solar systems and need a reliable local source for aluminium mounting systems, rails, brackets, and hardware, we can supply what you need in the quantities and lead times that installation schedules require. We supply aluminium solar mounting systems as well as the standard sections commonly used in racking and mounting applications, including channel, angle, flat bar, and tube.
Solar product manufacturers
If you are manufacturing your own solar mounting system, panel frame, bracket, or racking product, Astro Group can support you from material supply through to finished, surface-treated components.
Other Sectors We Can Serve
Large-scale solar and wind farms require significant quantities of standard aluminium sections for site infrastructure, including cable trays, conduit support systems, equipment platforms, walkways, and handrails. We are able to supply standard and purpose-specific sections for these applications, and anodise or powder coat components and lengths for internal and external applications.
The growth of battery energy storage alongside solar installations is creating demand for aluminium enclosures, housing panels, rack structures, and heat management components. These are fabricated from extruded and rolled aluminium, often anodised or powder coated, and represent a growing application for our supply and finishing capability.
Electric vehicle charging stations use aluminium extensively in housing structures, mounting brackets, and enclosure panels. As EV adoption accelerates in South Africa, charging infrastructure will become a significant aluminium consumer. Astro Group’s supply of sheet and extrusions, combined with our powder coating for outdoor enclosures, positions us well to service customers in this sector.
Small-scale hydropower installations use aluminium in control panels, housing structures, and access equipment. We supply anodised and powder-coated aluminium and steel components for water-adjacent environments, where corrosion resistance is a primary specification requirement.
Extrusions and fabricated components are used in wind turbine nacelle housings, access platforms, ladders, handrails, and cable management systems. We are able to supply standard and purpose-specific sections for these applications, and anodise or powder coat components that will be exposed to outdoor and coastal conditions.
Aluminium components are used in biogas plant structures, ventilation systems, and equipment housings. Our extruded sections, fabrication capability, and powder coating for both aluminium and steel are applicable in this industry.
