The Astro Group
The Astro Group is South Africa's leading aluminium surface finisher and one of the country's foremost suppliers of aluminium and aluminium products.
Our Origins
Founded in 1998
Astro Aluminium was founded in 1998 by our Group Managing Director, Andrew Dawson, to supply aluminium extrusions to the industry. These extrusions included standard sections in the form of angle iron and tubing, along with rolled product such as anodised quality sheet and tread plate.
The business soon evolved to accommodate the supply of purpose specific configurations needed by certain industries. An early objective was to establish a comprehensive manufacturing capability to produce high-quality finished and semi-finished products to client specification.
Astro Anodising was founded shortly thereafter to complement the supply side by offering anodising services to a broad spectrum of companies including those in the automotive and architectural sectors. Boasting the largest selection of colours and finishes available in the local market today, we are also proud of our capability to anodise work in sizes ranging from small components measured in millimetres right up to lengths of 7.5m.
Since those early years the group has grown from strength to strength widening its scope to include the manufacture of its own branded products aimed at a diversity of customers.

Aluminium Supply & Fabrication
Astro Aluminium specialises in the supply of an extensive range of extruded and rolled aluminium products to customers in various industries. We also manufacture semi-finished and finished aluminium products on behalf of our customers, or for distribution through our own channels. To enable us to offer enhanced facilities to our customers, we are able to source the necessary material for your orders and perform fabrication services that may be required.
Aluminium Anodising
Astro Anodising offers superior anodising services to manufacturers using aluminium in the production of their end products. We supply a diversity of customers across various industries, ranging from flooring profiles and electrical reticulation to framing.
Aluminium Powder Coating
Astro Powder Coating is a division of The Astro Group that specialises in superior powder coating services for aluminium and steel including components as well as lengths of up to 3.8m. We are able to provide a wide range of standard colours available for internal and external applications and can accommodate special colours on request.
Astro Quip
Astro Quip is the distribution division for our impressive range of aluminium assistive mobility devices, consisting of elbow crutches, walking frames and walking sticks.
Slide ‘n Space
At Slide ‘n Space, we specialise in Interior Sliding Doors, Barn Style Interior Sliding Doors, Folding Interior Sliding Doors, and Wardrobe Sliding Doors, our proudly South African brand is dedicated to improving both the beauty and functionality of your space.

Xrossbow Vehicle Accessories supplies lightweight and durable aluminium side steps and trims for a range of popular vehicle makes and models.
