Anodising Services

Astro Anodising offers anodising services to manufacturers using aluminium in the production of their end products as well as customers requiring anodising for bespoke projects. We offer the largest selection of colours and finish options available in South Africa. We are also proud of our capability to anodise work in sizes ranging from small parts or machined components up to lengths of 7,5m.

Powder Coating Services

Astro Powder Coating specialises in powder coating services for aluminium and steel including components as well as lengths up to 3,8m. We are able to provide a wide range of standard colours available for internal and external applications and can accommodate special colours on request. Powder coating provides greater protection and a more aesthetic finish for aluminium.

Pretreatment Services

Sandblasting (Bead Blasting)
For aluminium and steel

Bead blasting is an abrasive cleaning process that involves smoothing and cleaning aluminium or steel. This process ensures the surface finish isn’t impaired by marks or contaminants which can range from small scuff marks, to paint, rust and unwanted material on the surface. Bead blasting can also remove paint and rust from the surface of the material before, and ensure it retains its durable finish after anodising or powder coating.

Soda or Vapour Blasting
For aluminium only

Soda blasting or vapour blasting is a non-abrasive cleaning method for aluminium and is particularly effective at removing things such as light rust and old paint. This process can also be used to improve the overall quality (appearance) of the material.

Vibratory Polishing / Finishing
For aluminium only, in small quantities and sizes

Vibratory polishing / finishing is a process that is used when small components are placed in a circular vibrating drum that is filled with abrasive beads. This process is used to remove any unwanted material particles from the original component and polishes the surface providing a smooth finish to the material.

The blasting size for all pretreatment services is for components up to 500mm x 500mm.
