In aerospace, anodising is a functional surface treatment rather than a decorative one: it increases surface hardness, provides controlled and verifiable oxide layer thickness, and delivers corrosion resistance that paint cannot replicate.
For components where powder coating is specified over anodising, our in-house powder coating service covers aluminium and steel in a wide range of colours.
For aerospace components, surface preparation method selection is critical. We offer soda or vapour blasting for aluminium components, bead blasting where a more aggressive clean is required, and tumbling for small batch components.
Where Precision Matters Most
Dimensional tolerance and repeatability
Our CNC routering capability handles components between 25mm and 3m with specialised jigging that maintains high tolerance on high-volume repeatable work. For aerospace components where dimensional accuracy is non-negotiable, this level of process control matters.
Controlled anodising thickness
Aerospace specifications frequently call for anodising to a defined micron thickness, not a general finish standard. We work with customers who require controlled thickness on specific component types.
Laser welding for post-weld anodising
Conventional welding introduces heat that produces inconsistent results when the component is subsequently anodised. Our laser welder addresses this directly, making it possible to weld and anodise aluminium assemblies to a consistent standard.
ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management System
Our quality management system is compliant with ISO 9001:2015. We recognise that some aerospace supply relationships require AS9100 certification or other sector-specific standards. We are transparent about our current certification and encourage customers to discuss their specific compliance requirements with our team so we can advise accurately on where our capability fits within their supply chain.
